This weekend we’re talking about how to sequence the adrenaline moments and rest moments.

It’s been a struggle the world over with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and for individuals, we’ve been shuffling through emotions of fear, survival, change and a whole bunch of things that require an adrenal response.  So in this episode we are going to talk about the journey towards rest and digest, even if we are still going to need to make quick moves to be adaptive at this time, how do we sequence in rest and digest practices?  In this program - part 1 of our series on rest and digest, we talk to Bodywork practitioner Alexandra Coffey about how the body stores trauma, joys and experiences and what we need to do to switch into a place we can process the change as well as create the changes. Later in the episode we are going to talk about the act of doing nothing.

We’ve taken a mini rest, well we tried to. So now we are talking about digest, the kind that comes after a little bit of rest. Today we are going to talk about Digest and processing practices. We offer a bite sized introduction to Yin Yoga from the point of view it being a digestion practice that allows us to integrate our experiences. Later in the program, we’re going to celebrate the tradition of the piazza with a chat to Giuliano Lo Po from Piccolo Baia (which is Italian for Little Bay) and the name of another delicious restaurant here in Little Bay Village. Today promises to be a coffee and cake kind of podcast that hopes to launch you back into your own world of rest and digest, in the midst of our collective stay at home phase. Where we celebrate community and #beingkind and #connected on our very one piazza in Little Bay.

Consider Yourself Hugged- Celebrating the wise women from our lives with Amy and Abigail, with a story about Abigail’s Aunty and her “Consider Yourself Hugged” idea. We consider the perspective of Karma in the yogic tradition, as an act of service and action, which poses the question of how we are being of service in our own lives and community. Then later in the program we take a stroll down the “Nurses Walk” here in Little Bay, when we chat with Adrienne Pearson one of the volunteers at the Nursing and Medical Museum who are putting together an exhibition about the work of the Prince Henry Hospital nurses about infectious diseases. To organise tours of the Flowers Wing Building right opposite the village of cafes near Pine Ave here in Little Bay, take a look at their website: https://princehenryhospitalmuseum.org/museum/
