Getting to the Heart of Yin

Summer is the perfect time to take a yin practice which clears the heart and small intestine meridians. I’ll be teaching at my home studio Botannix, this Saturday 6th Jan at 5pm a 75 min yin class which is going to explore some of the heart, body, mind connections that Yin expert Bernie Clarke discusses.

In the spirit of heart enquiry, I’ve been pondering this idea of smiling from the heart, all week this summer holiday. 💖

I first came across this in Yin teacher and TCM practitioner Cathy Keenan’s writings.

This morning I was out on the SUP at Little Bay, using my arms, strong foundations on the board, sensing the yogic core, the movement definitely felt a connection to the heart and small intestine meridians.

The ocean, the sun, the family time was certainly giving back or recharging my heart. 🏖When we think about the subtle energy of the heart we can consider it’s valve like quality. That while its role physiologically is to keep the rhythm of life, sometimes we can also mindfully open the heart values and blow off steam, or take in the gifts of friendship, family and earth/ocean connection.🌏
